Manuscript Language

Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Nesia Engineering Science (JNESc) may be written in English and/or Indonesian.

Manuscript Template

All manuscripts must be prepared using the official JNESc manuscript template, available for download in the Template section of this website. Manuscripts that do not follow the template format will be returned to the author(s) for revision before further processing.

Manuscript Structure

A complete manuscript should generally be organized into the following sections:

  • Title - concise and informative, reflecting the content of the article.
  • Author Name(s) and Affiliation(s) - including the corresponding author's email address.
  • Abstract - a maximum of 250 words, summarizing the objective, method, key results, and conclusion of the study.
  • Keywords - 3-5 words or phrases, separated by commas.
  • Introduction - background, problem statement, literature review, and research objective.
  • Methods - described in sufficient detail for the study to be replicated.
  • Results and Discussion - findings presented with supporting tables/figures, together with their interpretation.
  • Conclusion - a concise summary of the main findings and their significance.
  • Acknowledgment (if applicable).
  • References - all cited works listed in full.

General Formatting

  • The text is typed single-spaced, using a 12-point font.
  • Emphasis is indicated using italics, not underlining (except for URL addresses).
  • Tables, figures, and illustrations are placed within the body of the text at the point where they are discussed, not collected at the end of the manuscript.
  • Figures and tables are numbered sequentially and include a clear caption or title.

References and Citations

References must be written consistently throughout the manuscript, following the citation style demonstrated in the JNESc manuscript template. Authors are strongly encouraged to manage their references using a reference manager application, such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote. Where available, the DOI or URL of each cited source should be included in the reference list.

Originality and Plagiarism

Manuscripts must be original work and free from plagiarism. All submissions are screened by the editorial team using Turnitin prior to being forwarded for peer review; manuscripts found to contain substantial plagiarism will be rejected.

Peer Review

Every manuscript deemed suitable by the editorial team is evaluated by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise, through a blind review process. Further details are available in the journal's Peer Review Statement.
