About Publishing System

Journal of Nesia Engineering Science (JNESc), E-ISSN 3032-2642, is published by Yayasan AL-HABIIBAH Surabaya. The journal is managed and published with Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.5, an open-source journal management and publishing platform developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). Every stage of the editorial process, from submission, screening, peer review, and revision to copyediting, production, and publication, takes place online, so authors can follow the status of their manuscripts at any time from their OJS dashboard.

Editorial and Publishing Workflow

  1. Submission. Authors register an account and submit their manuscript online using the JNESc template.
  2. Initial screening. The editor checks the manuscript's fit with the Focus and Scope, its compliance with the template, and the completeness of the files.
  3. Similarity check. Each manuscript is checked with Turnitin; a similarity index above 20% leads to return or rejection, in line with the Plagiarism & Retraction Policy.
  4. Double-blind peer review. At least two reviewers with relevant expertise evaluate the manuscript within four weeks. See the Peer Review Process.
  5. Editorial decision. The Editor-in-Chief accepts, requests minor or major revision, or rejects the manuscript based on the reviewers' recommendations.
  6. Revision. Authors return the revised manuscript with a response letter within 30 days.
  7. Copyediting. Accepted manuscripts are edited for language, style, and references, and the authors approve the edited version.
  8. Production. The layout editor prepares the final PDF galley, which is proofread with the authors.
  9. Publication. The article is published online with immediate open access under the CC BY 4.0 license.
